Publication Ethics
Jurnal Inovasi Manajemen Bisnis (JIMB) is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness, and ethical scholarly publishing. Authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to uphold responsible publication practices throughout the submission, peer-review, editorial, and publication processes.
| Integrity
Scholarly work must be accurate, original, and ethically conducted. |
Transparency
Relevant methods, funding, authorship, and conflicts should be disclosed. |
Fairness
Editorial and review decisions should be objective and impartial. |
Accountability
All parties remain responsible for their roles in scholarly publishing. |
A. RESPONSIBILITIES OF AUTHORS
- Authors must submit original work and properly acknowledge all sources, ideas, data, and materials obtained from others.
- A manuscript must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal or previously published in substantially the same form.
- Research data must be presented accurately. Fabrication, falsification, selective manipulation, or deliberate misrepresentation of data is prohibited.
- All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the work and must approve the final manuscript.
- Individuals who contribute to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be appropriately acknowledged.
- Authors must disclose relevant financial, institutional, professional, or personal conflicts of interest.
- Authors must disclose relevant funding sources where applicable.
- Authors should promptly notify the Editorial Team if significant errors are discovered in a submitted or published manuscript.
B. ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM
JIMB does not tolerate plagiarism or inappropriate reuse of previously published material. Manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection tools as part of the editorial quality-control process.
Similarity reports are evaluated by the Editorial Team based on the source, context, nature, and extent of textual overlap. A similarity percentage alone does not automatically determine whether plagiarism has occurred.
C. RESPONSIBILITIES OF EDITORS
- Editors must evaluate manuscripts fairly and independently.
- Editorial decisions should be based on academic merit, originality, relevance, methodological quality, clarity, and suitability for the journal.
- Editors must not discriminate on the basis of personal or institutional characteristics unrelated to scholarly merit.
- Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, author information, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence.
- Editors should avoid handling manuscripts where a significant conflict of interest may compromise impartiality.
- Editors are responsible for selecting reviewers with appropriate expertise and avoiding reviewers with known conflicts of interest.
- Editors should respond appropriately when credible concerns regarding plagiarism, data integrity, authorship, or other publication misconduct are reported.
D. RESPONSIBILITIES OF REVIEWERS
- Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and academically relevant evaluations.
- Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
- Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal or professional advantage.
- Reviewers should identify important relevant literature that has not been appropriately cited where possible.
- Reviewers should disclose any conflict of interest that may affect their independence.
- Reviewers who cannot complete the review within the requested time should inform the editor promptly.
E. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PUBLISHER
As the publisher of Jurnal Inovasi Manajemen Bisnis, STIA Trinitas Ambon supports editorial independence, responsible scholarly communication, publication integrity, digital dissemination, and the maintenance of a reliable scholarly record. The publisher supports appropriate editorial action when corrections, retractions, or other publication notices are necessary.
F. AUTHORSHIP AND CONTRIBUTORSHIP
| Appropriate Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research, participated appropriately in manuscript preparation, approved the final version, and accept responsibility for the work. |
Unacceptable Authorship
Guest, honorary, gift, and ghost authorship are inappropriate. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged according to their actual contributions. |
G. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose relationships or interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing research, manuscript evaluation, peer review, or editorial decision-making. Where a conflict exists, appropriate measures should be taken to preserve the independence and fairness of the publication process.
H. DATA INTEGRITY AND RESEARCH ETHICS
| Data Integrity
Authors must ensure that research data and results are accurate and not fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or intentionally misrepresented. |
Ethical Research
Research involving human participants, confidential information, organizations, or sensitive data should comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements. |
I. DUPLICATE AND REDUNDANT PUBLICATION
Authors should not publish substantially the same research in multiple journals without appropriate justification, citation, and disclosure. Manuscripts containing significant overlap with previous publications may be rejected or subject to further editorial investigation.
J. AI TOOLS AND SCHOLARLY INTEGRITY
The use of artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies must comply with the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy. AI tools may not be listed as authors and must not be used to fabricate data, create fictitious references, conceal plagiarism, or misrepresent scholarly work. Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of submitted content.
K. CONFIDENTIALITY
Editors and reviewers must protect confidential information obtained during manuscript submission and peer review. Unpublished manuscripts, data, ideas, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence must not be disclosed or used inappropriately without authorization.
L. CORRECTIONS, RETRACTIONS, AND WITHDRAWALS
When significant errors or publication concerns are identified, JIMB may issue corrections, retractions, withdrawal notices, or other appropriate editorial notices. Such actions are intended to protect the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record.
M. HANDLING PUBLICATION MISCONDUCT
When credible concerns regarding publication misconduct are reported, the Editorial Team may conduct an appropriate investigation and request explanations or supporting documents. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue, editorial actions may include:
- Requesting clarification from the authors;
- Requesting manuscript revision or correction;
- Rejecting the manuscript;
- Suspending the editorial process while concerns are investigated;
- Issuing a correction or other post-publication notice;
- Retracting a published article where serious concerns are confirmed.
